Queen's Temple
The essay in this catalog was written by Mary Jane Jacob, who was then curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago. It is an excellent source for understanding years of my sculpture using the mythological Queen as my inspiration.
The Queen's Temple houses a replica of the mysterious earthen ring and pointed sticks structure which was originally found generations earlier on an ancient site with no other clues to her identity. This ring became the icon and basis for worshiping the Queen over several generations of people as can be evidenced in the variety of my sculpture series from the early 1980's through the 1990's.
